This opening between these trees made me feel like I was walking out of a secret garden.
Couldn’t help but laugh at this fresh squeezed orange juice machine at a mall. Was tempted, but did not succumb.
Drove by the Tacoma Dome. I remember seeing ‘Nsync in concert there years and years ago (JC and Justin were my faves).

Daiso is Japan’s version of a dollar store. Except everything starts at $1.50 and goes up from there. More like a few-dollars store. It’s great, though, and you can find a lot of neat, useful things and some useful but questionable things too. Case in point: the crocodile shears that I bought to cut my hair? Useful. The disposable underwear that came in a multi-pack? Questionable, potentially useful, but ultimately I was okay not finding out.
Now here’s something that definitely falls in the useful category. It’s a Square card reader that allows you to take credit card payments on your phone! You just plug it into the headphone jack of your phone and download the app. They charge you a 2.75% per-transaction swipe (or you can also choose a flat monthly fee). I picked one up at a convention (although I saw them at a local Starbucks too), downloaded the app, and will be testing out the swiping soon.

Friday just snuck up on me this week! I can’t believe we’re in February already. It makes sense though, my internal February choco-meter has been going off like crazy and I can tell Valentine’s day is right around the corner. Some people are all about love on V-day, I’m all about the chocolate. I maybe troll the seasonal items section at the grocery store just to see what’s new so I can buy it for myself! Hey girl, gotta do what you gotta do.
Speaking of doing, lots to do this weekend– I’ve been working on a secret project for a while that hopefully I can share more about soon. I’ll be mostly working on that and spending good quality time with friends.
What are your plans this weekend? Hope you have a good one!

Would love to hear your review of Square when you use it, I’ve heard good things and have been frustrated by Paypal in the past (especially if clients don’t already have an account set up). I hear you about the candy, it’s all about hitting Target on Feb 15th! :) My fave is always the Reese’s hearts (or Christmas trees, or pumpkins…).
Yes, will do! The whole Paypal thing is actually one of the reasons I’m curious. Well, and the fact that I get to swipe something, haha. And I love me some Reeses too!
I use a Square card reader for all of my gigs. So awesome to be able to swipe credit cards on the spot with my iPhone.
ooh, good to know you like it!
that orange juice machine is crazy! whodda thunk? :) i hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, ami, and thank you for the baby name suggestions – i LOVE the name true!
I know, right?? Hope you had a great weekend too Shoko!
